Đề cử Oscar 2021: Phim Netflix dẫn đầu, điện ảnh châu Á tiếp tục được ghi nhận sau Parasite

Sau nhiều lần hoãn vì dịch COVID-19, bảng đề cử Oscar được Viện hàn lâm Khoa học và nghệ thuật điện ảnh Mỹ công bố tối 15-3.

Tối 15/3/2021 (theo giờ Việt Nam), BTC lễ trao giải Oscar lần thứ 93 - 2021 chính thức công bố danh sách đề cử của 23 hạng mục quan trọng. 

Mank - bộ phim tiểu sử về biên kịch Herman J. Mankiewicz của phim kinh điển Citizen Kane, do David Fincher đạo diễn - dẫn đầu với 10 đề cử, trong đó bao gồm Phim hay nhất, Đạo diễn xuất sắc nhất cho Fincher, Nam diễn viên chính xuất sắc cho Gary Oldman và Nữ diễn viên phụ xuất sắc cho Amanda Seyfried.

Việc Mank, phim do Netflix sản xuất và phát hành, dẫn đầu đề cử Oscar đã phản ánh đúng xu hướng năm 2020, năm của đại dịch COVID-19 khi việc thưởng thức phim ảnh qua các nền tảng trực tuyến lên ngôi.

Ở hạng mục lớn là “Phim hay nhất”, “Nomadland” sẽ dễ dàng chiếm trọn một suất đề cử. “Minari” - Tác phẩm điện ảnh từng tạo nên một làn sóng tranh cãi lớn ở giải thưởng "Quả cầu Vàng" 2021 góp mặt trong hạng mục đề cử cao nhất này. Các tác phẩm còn lại ở hạng mục này gồm The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal và The Trial of the Chicago 7.
